Jared Kasser of Denver walks his dog Piper at Sloan's Lake Park in Denver on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023. Denver faced record high temperatures on Tuesday with the mercury reaching the upper 60s just days before the start of winter. The high temperature reached 67 degrees in some parts of Denver, equaling the level set in 1917, according to the National Weather Service.

New Year's Day in Denver is ready for an outdoor getaway as meteorologists predict sunny and mild weather on Monday.

The National Weather Service expected the temperature to reach 53 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Light winds are expected to blow in the afternoon.

The next few days are expected to be sunny with temperatures in the upper 40s, but the next snow could be just around the corner, meteorologists said.

Snow is expected to fall on Thursday and Friday, with high temperatures expected to drop into the lower 40s on those days.
