Olly Alexander from Years & Years has released his debut single titled Dizzy. Co-written and produced by Danny L Harley, the song will also represent the UK at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. Check it out below.
“We started with the word ‘Dizzy’ because it just came to mind and I liked it,” Olly Alexander said in a statement. “I was thinking of fun things that could make you dizzy and I remember saying ‘dizzy from your kisses’ so we built the song around that.”
“Danny and I believe that music should transport you to a magical place and we wanted to describe this magical place in the song; A place of beautiful gardens, eternal flowers and time endlessly revolving in a loop of ecstasy. “We took the giddy feeling and put it into the production, so there are a lot of undulating arpeggios, rhythmic harmonies, and counter-beats in the backing vocals. The song is about feeling an intense emotional wave about someone turning your world upside down and inside out, and we took a lot of inspiration from Music we love from the 80's like Stock Aitken, Waterman, Erasure, Adamski and of course Pet. Shop the boys.”
