SLIFT have released a video for their new single “Weavers' Weft”, which is taken from their upcoming EP. Ilion. It comes on the heels of previous singles “Ilion” and “Nimh.” Check it out through the accompanying image below.
“‘Weavers’ Weft’ is the song that opens the second half of the album,” the band said in a statement. “There was a turning point in the narrative at the end of the first half of the album. The second half of the record no longer exists in the linear flow of time that serves as the backdrop for many stories. From 'Weavers' Woof' onwards, time goes into the past and into the future. The piece talks about The Weavers of Time, entities constantly creating space-time, each containing its share of universes. Everything that exists is written there, and it is possible to travel between frames. Everything is cyclical and infinite. To make this clear (or perhaps the other way around?), we wanted something homogeneous and timeless. It's as if this song was sung thousands of years ago (going back in time!) The heavier parts are inspired by bands like Part Chimp and Gnod.
Ilionthe debut of French psychedelic rock band Sub Pop, is scheduled for release on January 19.
