“Excited to be performing at @goldenglobes tonight! Especially after staying home last year through devastating storms,” Costner, 68, wrote on Instagram.

“I'm grateful to be here, and thanks to Hollywood Foreign Press for having me!” he added.

This came one year after Costner and his then-wife Baumgartner were forced to miss the Golden Globe Awards due to extreme weather conditions in Los Angeles.

“Yesterday we had to pull kids out of school in Santa Barbara,” Costner later said in a video apology. “This is the second time in five years the highway has been flooded, and we found ourselves on the wrong side of town and couldn't get back last night.”

He added: “No one is sadder than us that we can't be there at the Golden Globes.” “Chris had a beautiful dress, and I was looking forward to walking the red carpet with her.”

Costner won a Golden Globe last year

Costner ended up winning a Golden Globe that night for his work on his show “Yellowstone.”

“When you first come to Hollywood, you just want to get your first job, and you see these things and wonder if you'll ever walk into a room like that,” he said after receiving his award in the mail. “It feels really good to have that, there's no substitute for being there.”

He continued: “But my wife made us a night with all those balloons and now I'm carrying them.” “To everyone who supported me, and to the Hollywood foreign press for thinking enough about what I did this year, I am so happy that I found films in my life. It made a difference. I don't know what would have happened to me if I had not done films. Thank you everyone.”

Costner spent most of last year battling with Baumgartner in court after she filed for divorce from him.

“You know, when you live a long life with someone, there's no winner…and this big, crazy thing called life and how it unravels so quickly,” he previously said. “One minute you feel like you're on top of the world, then you realize how weak you are.”

“She is a wonderful mother,” he added. “We'll figure it out and we'll share it. We've just reached a kind of recovery now.

During last night's Golden Globe Awards, Costner presented the award for Best Cinematography and Box Office Achievement alongside the film Barbie Star America Ferrera. While presenting this award, Costner praised Ferreira for the “important message” behind it Barbie A monologue about femininity.

“It always reminds me of what's possible in film, and it just reminds me that when we take our time when we can do it right, when film works at its best, there can be moments that you'll never forget,” he said: “A look, a touch, a kiss, a speech.” “And I just had one of those moments.”
