Former Vice President Mike Pence appeared on CNN on Sunday to discuss the January 6 Capitol protest.
Pence told CNN's “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper that the FBI did not contribute to the Jan. 6 Capitol protest, and welcomed the arrest of more than 1,200 Trump supporters.
“I have heard many repeated assurances from the FBI that they are not involved, and I take them at their word,” Pence said.
Pence said he believed FBI Director Christopher Wray's words that the FBI did not incite the riot.
“I have seen the FBI director repeatedly confirm to the American people that the FBI was not the instigator of the January 6 riot,” Pence told Jake Tapper on Sunday. “Frankly, I am extremely grateful for the efforts of the FBI to bring to justice the nearly 1,000 people who ransacked our Capitol and committed acts of violence against police officers that day.”
Pence said he was “glad” that more than 1,000 Trump supporters – most of them peaceful – were being held in labor camps in the capital.
Most of the protesters on January 6 wandered peacefully through the Capitol after police waved them in, but Biden's corrupt Justice Department arrested and charged them anyway.
“I believe whoever carried out these riots at the Capitol should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. “I'm glad so many did,” Pence added.

Hundreds of federal agents and agitators were integrated into the Capitol protest.
Rep. Higgins told Tucker that government officials — federal, military, etc. — lured Trump supporters to the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Higgins estimates that at least 200 FBI assets were working among a crowd of Trump supporters at the Capitol on January 6.
Videos published by The Gateway Pundit show Capitol Police moving barricades, opening sets of locked doors and waving to Trump supporters on January 6.
Despite this, the Justice Department under Biden has made it clear that thousands more will be arrested in connection with January 6.
Matthew Graves, the US Attorney for the District of Columbia appointed by Biden, said Thursday that the Justice Department will now target thousands of Americans who were around the Capitol on January 6, but did not enter the building.
“An important note about those who stayed out [Capitol] “Construction,” Graves said. “We used our judicial discretion to focus primarily on those who entered the building, namely those who engaged in violent or disruptive conduct on Capitol grounds.”
He continued: “But, if someone knowingly enters a restricted area without a permit, they have already committed a federal crime.” Make no mistake, thousands of people are occupying an area they were never allowed to be in in the first place.
