Late actor Lee Sun-Kyun was driven to his death by constant blackmail from two women. Park Soo-jeong, the widowed mother who extorted money from late star Lee Sun-kyun amounting to tens of millions of won, was formerly an actress, according to a recent report in an online forum, MLBPARK.

More specifically, in October last year, Park Soo Jeong reportedly requested 200 million KRW (approximately $152,120) from Lee Sun Kyun. The defendant is accused of intimidating the late actor to demand a ransom of 50 million Korean won, or about $38,030.
Park Soo Jeong was arrested after appearing in the correctional court with her child on the 28th of last month.
Meanwhile, her co-accused, Kim Nam Hee, was accused of swindling 300 million Korean won, or about $228,181 USD, from Lee Sun Kyun in September 2023. She allegedly told the late actor that a hacker was trying to expose the relationship. She also claimed that the hacker was trying to spread information about their relationship and that she needed 350 million KRW to put an end to the relationship.
Kim Nam Hee said:
“An unknown hacker is trying to expose our relationship. We need to stop him with money.”
The entertainment establishment's director, Kim Nam Hee, is now being charged and tried under the Anti-Narcotics Law for drug-related crimes. Having served a previous conviction for fraud, Park Soo Jeong met Kim Nam Hee, who had previous convictions for six drug crimes, while inside. They lived next door to each other for more than seven years in the same apartment building after their release.

During a heated exchange at the Incheon Police Drug Crime Investigation Department in October 2023, Park Soo Jeong grabbed Kim Nam Hee's hair and physically harassed her before reporting her for drug use. Since Park was unable to extort 300 million KRW from Lee Sun-kyun, the police believe that Park's report against the director of the entertainment establishment was a retaliatory move.
Police believe that since Park Soo Jeong was unable to obtain the requested ransom amount of 200 million KRW from Lee Sun Kyun, she filed a report against Kim Nam Hee as a form of revenge.
