Road Town, British Virgin Islands – October 31, 2023 – Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com/), a next-generation digital asset trading platform, celebrates the 15th anniversary of the publication of the Bitcoin whitepaper by announcing a new collaboration with Torogoz Dev, an educational program based in El Salvador. To provide technical training in the field of Bitcoin and accelerated network development.

Following El Salvador's historic decision in 2021 to declare Bitcoin legal, there is a huge demand for educational resources and training to increase understanding of how Bitcoin is used and developed in the country. Torogoz Dev's mission is to provide its students with the opportunity to bridge the demand gap for Bitcoin technical knowledge and bring value to Bitcoin and Lightning development.

Torogoz Dev currently offers an intensive course for students who have completed the previous stages of study which included training in Bitcoin and Lightning programming. This intensive course, called the Fellowship, is offered to selected students from previous stages of Torogoz Dev Training, and aims to ensure Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador by training students to deliver solutions that align with their interests and meet local needs. Students will run Bitcoin and Lightning nodes, develop an internal node network, open channels, and learn about node and network management.

They will work with Cherito Café, a Bitcoin-friendly agribusiness in El Salvador, which wants to integrate Bitcoin as a payment solution. Students will begin by defining business needs, going through the creation of user stories, the product backlog, grouping stories by epics, defining acceptance criteria and defining dependencies. The project structure and code development will be published on GitHub.

Students will also be taught how to manage cloud services and apply programming logic to make payments via the Lightning Network. They will also learn how to document an API and learn about security techniques applied to systems related to Lightning, microservices, and APIs. They will also create different plugins to integrate with content management systems like Woocommerce or WordPress.

By sponsoring events like the Bitcoin Adoption Conference and collaborating with leading organizations that have adopted decentralized technologies, Bitfinex aims to accelerate financial and technical literacy and inclusion. Through these educational initiatives, Bitfinex seeks to create a ripple effect of positive change, empowering people to understand and benefit from the benefits of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
