Jeffrey Epstein's name has been trending online after a list of 170 names said to be linked to Epstein was revealed. The documents, which were initially kept secret, included the names of famous faces such as Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, Donald Trump, and others.
While the list became public, a video clip of Ricky Gervais, joking about the list during the 2020 Golden Globe Awards ceremony, spread on various social media platforms. He mentioned Epstein’s name during his speech, and while the audience began to laugh, he said:
“Shut up, I know he's your friend, but I don't care.”
He began by saying that the room was full of “the most important television and film executives in the world,” and they were from many different backgrounds. He also mentioned:
“But they all have one thing in common – they're all terrified of Ronan Farrow. He's coming for you!”
Once the video was shared everywhere, netizens shared their reactions, with one claiming that Gervais knew at the time that “the game was over for them.”

The list of Jeffrey Epstein's alleged associates was taken from some old court documents. A human trafficking victim named Virginia Giuffre once accused Epstein's ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell of lying to her, saying she had been abused, according to Newsweek.
Although many people believed the list contained the names of Epstein's clients, this has been denied. As mentioned earlier, Ricky Gervais' Golden Globes video showed celebrities being targeted with a bit of humor over their connections to Epstein, and netizens posted their reactions to the same:
Jeffrey Epstein's list was not disclosed for a long time because the court could not discover a suitable legal reason to do the same. While the disclosure process began on January 1, 2024, certain parts of the documents remain classified.
After Epstein's suicide in 2019, multiple lists were uploaded to social media platforms that reportedly contained the names of people who had gone to his island. Ghislaine Maxwell was also convicted of helping Epstein bring underage girls to his island, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.
After the names were revealed, US Judge Loretta Preska strictly ordered everyone to be referred to as “John and Jane,” The Independent reported.

Fox News reported that Jeffrey Epstein's list mentioned the names of Bill Clinton and his partner Doug Band, along with the late Governor Bill Richardson. Also included are billionaire Glenn Dubin, chef Reynaldo Rizzo, Limited Brands founder Les Wexner, and many others.
Although Clinton's name was mentioned on the list, his spokesman denied the allegations. As previously mentioned, the names were retrieved from court documents for the lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was also transferred to his island.
According to CNBC, Epstein's island was purchased by billionaire Steven Dickoff for $60 million in May of last year. Dickov intended to create a huge resort on the island at that time.
