    Winter weather in Pittsburgh: Track this weekend

    A West Coast storm is making its way across the country. Action Weather in Pittsburgh is currently tracking the storm southward, significantly reducing the chances of snow. Snow showers are expected to arrive after 10 a.m. and continue through Saturday evening, ending around 6 p.m. The system's path is heading more south and east of Pittsburgh. As a result, the highest snowfall totals will be to our east, over the mountains into central Pennsylvania. Most locations will likely see 1-3 inches of snow by Saturday evening, and three to five inches of snow is expected in the Laurel Highlands. We will launch Impact Day on Saturday afternoon due to snow and some minor travel issues. Roads will be wet, but expected snow accumulation will be mainly on unpaved surfaces.
