Libertarian journalist John Stossel has written a new column and created a video to go with it, which criticizes government “takers” like Elizabeth Warren and supports innovative “makers” like Elon Musk.
Stossel correctly points out that people like Elizabeth Warren don't produce anything. All they do is target producers and take their wealth to redistribute it as they see fit.
If we had an effective education system, every American child would understand this concept by third grade.
Here's an excerpt from Stossel's column, via the Daily Signal:
Are you a maker or a taker?
Politicians often take.
They take our money (and our freedom) in the name of achieving goals they rarely achieve.
Elon Musk and Senator Elizabeth Warren may be the best examples of a maker and a taker. They are the stars of my video this week.
Warren shouts: “Tax the rich!”
It especially wants to tax Musk, the richest man in the world.
In her eagerness to seize his money, she sparked a scandal in the media, claiming that Musk had not paid any taxes. She's gone on TV repeatedly to tell people that in 2018, he “paid nothing!”
It was true. In 2018, Musk paid no federal income tax. But that was only because his salary was entirely in the form of “stock options,” and in that year, they did not give him any income.
But at the same moment that Warren launched her “tax break” slogan, Musk was paying the US government $12 billion — more tax than anyone has paid in history.
Warren did not mention this.
I hope Musk pays much less in taxes. The world would be better off spending the $12 billion itself, rather than giving it to Warren and her cronies.
Stossel's video on this is excellent. Watch below:
.@elonmusk He does things that our government has failed to do.
He invented the world's best rockets, lowered the cost of spaceflight, and launched satellites that connect even the world's poorest and most remote areas.
Our world needs more makers like Musk; Fewer beneficiaries such as: pic.twitter.com/jjFCbzEe9G

Stossel has done just that. People like Musk make our lives better. People like Warren don't contribute anything but want to benefit from the innovation that others provide.
