Kamala Harris was insulted this week when radio host Charlamagne Tha God revealed he regretted endorsing her in 2020. Charlamagne admitted he felt so “burned” by his 2020 endorsement that he doesn't plan to endorse President Joe Biden and Harris on the matter. Presidential elections year.
Charlemagne criticizes Harris
“I learned my lesson from doing this,” Charlamagne told Politico. “Once they got to the White House, it just kind of disappeared.”
He continued, “When I give people my word like, 'Man, I think we should support Kamala Harris for vice president… because she's going to obstruct it.' “When we say those things and people don't see them pressing on, it causes problems.”
Charlamagne went on to say that he still faces backlash for his endorsement of Biden and Harris in 2020 to this day.
“Dammit, you asked us to vote for it [them].' Do you know how many people tell me that all the time? He said.
This is in stark contrast to comments Charlamagne made in October 2020, when he was quick to endorse both Biden and Harris.
“I'm voting for Kamala Harris, I'll tell you that right away. I'm not necessarily voting for Joe Biden, I'm voting for Senator Kamala Harris,” he said at the time.
“I believe she is an agent of political change, and she is exactly the leader this country needs to lead us into the future. “If she is not, I would be wrong,” he added. “I am so tired of the old white man’s leadership in politics.”

Charlamagne interviews Harris and Biden
Charlamagne interviewed Harris in December of 2021, and things quickly got heated when he asked her who the “real” president was.
“I want to know who is the real president of this country — is it Joe Biden or Joe Manchin?” While speaking with Harris, Charlamagne asked about Democratic Senator Manchin's opposition to spending legislation that was being discussed in Congress.
“Come on, Charlemagne.” “No, no, no, no, it's Joe Biden,” Harris said as Charlamagne tried to justify the question, according to the New York Post.
She continued: “And do not start talking as Republicans about the question of whether he is the president or not… He is Joe Biden, he is Joe Biden, and I am the vice president and my name is Kamala Harris.”
In a 2020 interview with Charlamagne, Biden infamously said “you're not black” if you're having trouble choosing between him and Trump. In his recent comments, Charlamagne stated that he does not expect Biden or Harris to join him for interviews anytime this year.

Harris's approval rating drops
It comes after Harris' popularity continued to decline through 2023, with prominent political scientist Thomas Gift telling Newsweek that his unpopularity “could end up being a difference-maker” in this year's election.
Last month, analysis by polling site 538 revealed that Harris' net disapproval rating rose 7.4 percent in 2023, from 10 points to 17.4. Between January 1 and December 5, Harris' approval fell from 41.7% to 36.3% while her disapproval rose from 51.7% to 53.7%.
Gift, who is head of the Center for American Politics at University College London, noted that Harris is the least popular first-term vice president since George H.W. Bush's Vice President Dan Quayle.
“To realize how unpopular Kamala Harris is, you have to keep in mind the historical significance of it all,” Gift said. “No one in her position has had this low a level of preferences in a first term since Dan Quayle. That's saying something. So it's not surprising, especially with Biden's age, that Republicans continue to make a simple point: A vote for Biden is a vote for Harris.
“Although it is the top of the ticket that drives the vote, and that will be true again in 2024, Harris's unpopularity will matter at the margin,” he continued. As next year's election approaches, these margins could end up being a difference maker.
Harris has been a complete disaster for the vice president, so it's not surprising to see someone like Charlemagne turn on her. Ultimately, Harris shouldn't be surprised if this is just the beginning of celebrities turning away from her as we head into this election year!
