I must admit that I was slightly skeptical in Santorini before spending 3 days there. Looking at the popularity of this island and the noise that surrounds it, I was sure that we will face crowds and crowds that would kill the joy of his visit. But I was wrong. The beauty of the island goes beyond all inconvenience.

Through its iconic white villages that spread along the volcanic slopes, tribal churches in the sapphire and wonderful sunset, Santorini is not just a destination, it is a world in itself. Among the Greek islands, Santorini (or Thira, its ancient name), stands out as cyclades. Its unique natural beauty, archaeological richness and refined entertainment attract people here in a way that does not do any other island.

    What is special in Santorini

The volcanic beauty was born from the legend and fire. Unlike the leafy green scene of the Corvo or the World Tinnitus in Mykonos, Santorini is the queen of Caldira. It was formed by a catastrophic volcanic eruption in the sixteenth century BC. I gave birth to this amazing island in the form of a crescent that we see today. Walking along the edge in the first or OIA, not only looks at a point of view – you stand on geological history.

Everywhere you go to Santorini, you remember that you are on a volcano. Lunar landscape, black and red beaches, and a gravel made of lava. Santorini drones and drones may achieve some justice for the beauty of Caldera, but when you see them personally, you understand why Santorini is present in almost every item in the Greek islands.

Is 3 days in Santorini enough?

The journey to Santorini can be anywhere from 3 to 5 days, depending on your pace and interests. A 3 -day trip gives you a good balance in watching tourist attractions and relaxation, but if you can spend more, you will be able to explore the island more in -depth.

For visitors for the first time who just want to see the main attractions of Santorini, such as OIA, Fira and Caldera, it will be 3 ideal days. But in the end, the ideal time depends on your travel style and what you want to do.

    Attractive factors in Santorini

There are many amazing pictures of Santorini, and many people who will tell you that Santorini is their favorite place in the world. But if you come to Santorini, you expect the sky on the ground, you will be disappointed. Although the beauty of the hole surrounded by white homes with uninterrupted blue roofs, there is not much that can be seen and done on this island.

The largest attractions in Santorini are the cities of OIA and Fira, which floats on Caldera. These two cities provide a very romantic stadium with luxurious villas and resorts with picturesque views. There is also a smaller village called Pyrgos, which is very original and worth a visit.

    • OIAUniversally famous for its sunset (and rightly valid), OIA is a maze of narrow alleys, domed churches, luxury hotels and coordinated art stores. Make sure to explore early morning to get quieter magic.
    • Vera: The capital, the bustling, but the beautiful, floats on the slopes with a vibrant nightlife and exceptional looks of Caldira.
    • BergusLess tourist, with a medieval Fbei, chromium farms, and panoramic views of destroyed pasteli.

What do you do in Santorini in 3 days

Below is a more detailed path on how to spend 3 days in Santorini:

Today 1: Caldera Views and OIA’s Charm

    • morning: He heads to OIA to explore its charming streets, enjoy the blue churches, and enjoy the CALDERA views. Take pictures of the distinctive buildings that the eggs wash.
    • afternoon: Starting on a cruise at Caldera Sunset for a stunning view of the volcanic carrots and Caldera.
    • evening: Securing a good place in OIA to see the world’s famous sunset, a truly unforgettable experience.

The second day: beaches, the archaeological site

    • morningSantorini beaches are forged of volcanic magic, so they are unlike any other beaches in Greece. In the morning, visit the Red Beach with the unique red slopes and clear water, or relax on the beach of Persia or Perivolos, known as their black sand and the vital air.
    • afternoonExplore the ancient city of Akkroteri, which is often called “Greek Pompeii”.
    • evening: Consider the wine tasting tour of one of the local wine factories in Santorini, and take samples of unique volcanic wines on the island.

The third day: walking long distances, villages and relaxation

    • morning: Save from first to OIA (or vice versa) along the CALDERA path, while enjoying the amazing landscape.
    • afternoon: Explore the traditional villages of Pergus and Megalochori, which suffers from authentic Santorini.
    • evening: Enjoy the final Santorini sunset, perhaps from Fira or OIA.

    Optional activities

If you have more than 3 days in Santorini, you can do one of the following activities:

    • Height to Skaros Rock near IMEROVIGLI for panoramic views.
    • Take a one -day trip to the nearby island of Therasia, calm calm from the crowds.
    • Consider the boat tour of the volcano and hot springs for a unique experience.
    • Spend more time on beaches to enjoy the sun and water activities.

    Paths with display

If you want to do some long -distance walking on the island, there are a few tracks that provide stunning views of Caldera. The first -to -oia’s height may be the most famous, 10 km track with jaw looks, lava -lava ground, church, and loginia. My recommendation is to start early in the morning or in the evening, during the golden hour.

Other long walking you can do:

    • Bergus to the Monastery of the Prophet Elias: Panoramic views from the highest peak in Santorini.
    • The Old TRILAL: From Perissa to the mountain to the Hellenistic ruins from the old thera.

Where do you eat in Santorini: Top restaurants

There are many good restaurants in Santorini, so don’t be afraid. We have tried a good number of them, but those that seemed to emerge:

    • Celine (Bergus): It eats the cycling cuisine.
    • Metaxi Mas (Exo Gonia): Local favorite with delicious parts.
    • Dimitris Ammoudi Taverna: For fresh seafood with almost your feet at sea.

    Entertainment and nightlife

Although it is not wild like Mykonos, Santorini has its own with elegant beach clubs, Caldera-VIEW COCKTAIL, and spots late at night in Fira. Do not miss:

    • Franco Bar for classic music at sunset.
    • PK Cocktail Bar Panoramic elegance.

Plan to visit you for 3 days – The best time to visit Santorini

The best time to visit Santorini (and the Greek islands, with this symbol) is from late April to early June and from September to late October. Greece becomes very hot during the summer, and although you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach, today’s temperatures can rise to the point that you will not be able to enjoy a lot.

    One last word

Although I cannot say that our trip to Santorini was not a joy, there are some warnings that you should know.

    Crowds

Because the popularity of the island is incompatible, the incredible number of people come here every day. Last year alone, Al -Jazeera withdrew 3.4 million reported visitors, which exceeded the population of Santorini, which number 20,000 people or so.

Up to 17,000 cruise passengers increases daily to the island during the peak season. All of them go directly to the cities of Vera and OIA. The narrow streets paved with gravel and Cliffside are filled with the ability with tourists looking for sunset personal photos, and therefore it is really difficult to enjoy the beauty of this place. Even taking a decent picture becomes a challenge.

    Costs

Another group again is the cost. Santorini is an expensive ridicule! Starting with the accommodation and food places and ends with anything else you may want to buy, you expect to spend Baku Bachez on this island. This is especially true for the cities of Oya and Fira, which are alike with designer stores, luxury stores and jewelry stores. Yes, you can find great pieces of gold jewelry here, but you will pay for three times anywhere else.

As long as you are aware of these flaws, you are likely to enjoy Santorini and leave with some good memories. For us, we were not particularly admired by this island and preferred to return to some other places in Greece, such as Crete, Ethaka or Cancelia.
