Ian de Bode has joined real assets startup Ondo Finance, leaving a position as head of digital assets at major consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
De Bode becomes Ondo's chief strategy officer and the company's newest hire from a traditional key financial position. Ondo founder and CEO Nathan Allman comes from the digital assets team at Goldman Sachs. Ondo recently hired the former head of digital asset compliance at Goldman to be its chief risk and compliance officer. Vice President of Partnerships Kate Wheeler was a former vice president at BlackRock.

“I have now reached a point where my passion for digital assets has surpassed what I can do [McKinsey]“I fundamentally believe that digital assets will lead to the creation of an open and accessible financial system, and Ondo is the team that will make that happen,” De Bode said of his departure in a LinkedIn post.

Ondo specializes in real-world asset tokenization. For example, its stablecoin USDY pays a yield collateralized by US Treasury bonds. Ondo also invested $95 million of the backing behind OUSG's US treasury tokens into a money market fund connected to BlackRock's blockchain, BUIDL.

Bitfarms is looking for a CEO
Canadian bitcoin mining company Bitfarms announced Monday that it will undergo a CEO transition.
Bitfarms' current President and CEO L. Geoffrey Morphy will leave the company at the end of its Board of Directors' CEO search process. Murphy joined Bitfarms in August 2020 and became CEO in December 2022 after co-founder Emiliano Grodzki resigned from the top job.
In a statement, Bitfarms Chairman Nicholas Bonta said Bitfarms is “evolving to meet the needs of rapidly growing investor interest in Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining around the world.”
Under Murphy's leadership, Bitfarms' share price has risen more than 130% in the past year, despite falling more than 20% in the past month amid a broader decline in mining stocks.
