The New Brunswick Museum building in Saint John will be modernized and expanded after a combined investment of more than $131 million from the federal and provincial governments alongside the museum.
The announcement was made today by MP Wayne Long, Premier Blaine Higgs, and Council Member Wayne Power.
This project will partially rebuild the current museum, while preserving the historic facade and significantly expanding the building. One important goal is to make the renewed building greener than before. The new facility will be more energy efficient and is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 32%.
