London band Fresh have released “Merch Girl,” the first single from their upcoming mini-album of the same name, which will be released on April 19 via Get Better and Specialist Subject. Take a listen below.
“‘Merch Girl’ is about living in that space between wanting something and achieving something,” the band explained in a press release. “It's a personal song, about someone who is involved in music – but not in the way he wants to, and is frustrated by it. At the beginning of the song, they're watching from the sidelines, but as the song progresses they make the decision to create their own art. It's somewhat sarcastic, inspired by clichés Of Zahrat Al-Munjid, and Al-Sahib, but ultimately empowering and a reflection of the ways in which we come to be ourselves as artists.
Fresh's last album was 2022 Raise hell.
