Earlier today, Maria Herrera Mellado was on FOX News Radio with hosts Sean Duffy and his wife Rachel Campos Duffy.
Maria is a practicing attorney licensed in the United States and Spain. Maria has experience as an advisor and advisor to Hispanic politicians as well as corporate officials, investors, and entrepreneurs.
Maria Mellado on Friday discussed the lack of seriousness and ethics among many lawyers today who work with immigrants, especially undocumented immigrants entering the United States.
Maria Herrera Mellado: Even us as immigration lawyers. We have taken an oath note to defend this nation. We took an oath to defend the Constitution. And I don't see a way, and I don't see how you can release people without doing a credible fear interview. You don't know who they are. You don't know why they're here. You have no guarantee that they will come back, that they will come back to court. So why do we do that?
And frankly, Rachel, no immigration attorneys are talking about this issue. I know why – because we make money representing immigrants. But we have a duty to defend this nation as well. To me, this makes no sense. This must be denounced. An office must be established, especially at the state level, at the federal level, to investigate immigration fraud because it is widespread and harmful to our profession, our legal residency, and American taxpayers.
How does fraud at the southern US border harm our country's legal system and hurt American taxpayers? Immigration lawyer @Maria Herrera Mi joins @RCamposDuffy And @SeanDuffyWI To expose corruption in the ongoing migration crisis. https://t.co/vNz47gpXUa pic.twitter.com/A7DZnPxGYV
