The North Face, an outdoor apparel company, is competing strongly in the Woke Olympics.
Last year, they thought it would be a great idea to feature a drag queen selling clothes to roughnecks.
Now, the company is offering a 20% discount to customers in the UK if they complete a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) course that teaches how the “outsider” oppresses black people.
The hour-long Allyship in the Outdoors course shares: “Privilege can give us access to the outdoors – this means that some people can enjoy advantages that are inherited from birth and/or accumulate over time. For example, aspects of identity That can confer a privilege related to race, religion, gender, wealth, sexual orientation, ability or citizenship status.
“In this particular context, we refer to ‘white privilege’ which means that your race and skin color can grant you access to the outdoors when others can be excluded due to historical and enduring racism and biases.”
The course also instructs attendees that being an ally means combatting racism on a systemic and personal level, and suggests participants “check your privilege and continue to learn through others about the impact racism can have in a community and how that manifests in the outdoors.”
Fox Business spoke with Heritage Foundation DEI expert Mike Gonzalez, who said, “It was the longest hour I've ever lived.”
One part that Gonzalez found particularly offensive and “dehumanizing” was when he suggested that a person with privilege should not judge minorities by the same standards they judge themselves.
“This is an inhumane proposition. We have ethics of virtue, talent, intelligence, hard work, insight and resilience. These are things we admire in those who possess these qualities, whatever their race.” [is],” He said.
