There is 'no certainty' regarding Simone Inzaghi's future at Inter Milan as Manchester United consider the 47-year-old a target.
That's according to today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Currently, Inzaghi is under contract with Inter until the end of June 2025.
The Nerazzurri coach earns a total of €5.5 million net per season.
There is no doubt that Inzaghi would expect a significant increase in his salary if he signed a new contract with the Nerazzurri.
Corriere newspaper reported that Inzaghi would want at least €7 million net per season if he wanted to stay.
This would reflect the growing stature of the former Lazio coach. Both within the club and in terms of its reputation across Europe.
Inzaghi now knows full well that he can almost certainly earn more elsewhere.
The Premier League would be the logical choice for any manager looking to maximize his profits. Manchester United is among the interested clubs.
The Red Devils could release former Ajax and Twente coach Erik Ten Hag at the end of the current season.
Inzaghi will be close to the Premier League giants' list of potential replacements for the Dutchman.
This means Inter have work to do to convince Inzaghi to sign a new contract.
Naturally, the 47-year-old is very happy at Inter. Leaving means leaving the project with a strong sense of potential. It also means adjusting to a new league and country.
But nothing is set in stone yet. Inter will know that they have to convince their coach of the right financial offer, in addition to meeting other conditions.
For example, Inzaghi will certainly not want to see any significant time off this summer.
Now focus on the playing field. But at the end of the season, Inter will head into negotiations with Inzaghi, knowing they can't take anything for granted.
