Starting at $42,500, the all-electric Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a blast from the future.
When you enter the cabin, you'll immediately notice a clean, simple information system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen at the center of everything. You also get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that's easy to read and keeps track of all the important information including how many miles you can drive on your current charge.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel features interactive LED pixel lighting, which is evident now. Dual-colour ambient lighting provides overall illumination of the interior of the IONIQ 6 and enables a customized look and feel to the cabin. Users can choose from a range of 64 colors and six preset themes developed by color experts to help drivers and passengers feel relaxed and at ease. There's “Focus” (blue and green), “Healing Forest” (yellow and green), “A Wonderful Day” and red and gold, plus many others.
The driver's seat has eight-way power adjustments and power lumbar. Fabric seating surfaces feel durable. The long wheelbase allowed Hyundai designers to expand the interior, front and rear to provide optimal legroom and roominess that keeps passengers comfortable. The platform also allows for a completely flat floor, giving a spacious feeling.
The all-electric range is 361 miles on dual-motor all-wheel drive. The IONIQ 6 is available with a range of drive motors and battery packs to suit each customer's needs, without compromising on performance.
Customers can choose from two battery pack options: The 77.4 kWh long-range battery can be combined with two electric motor designs: either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The best-in-class dual-motor setup is an all-wheel drive option that produces a combined power of 239kW and 605Nm.
On the outside, you get 18-inch alloy wheels that are sharp and leave a strong impression. Given the lines, the available rear spoiler is eye-catching, giving this sedan a modern and sporty style that makes it stand out.
Not only does it get LED headlights and taillights, but the same LED technology is found on the rearview mirrors, keeping the design features consistent throughout.
Combining features, power and performance together contributed to the IONIQ 6 earning MotorWeek's 2024 Driver's Choice Award for Best Electric Vehicle, which takes into account reliability, value and consumer trends.
You can't get any better than this: The design and reliability of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 make it a good choice for a family electric car. Try it and let me know what you think.
