Sting has been a part of AEW for over three years and is currently involved in an important storyline that is expected to culminate in his retirement this week. Darby Allin has been with Sting since the beginning, and now he has revealed his future plans after Sting's retirement.
Allin is scheduled to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship alongside The Icon against The Young Bucks at the Revolution 2024 Pay-Per-View. The undefeated tag team seeks revenge on Matthew and Nicholas Jackson for their brutal attack earlier in February.
Speaking in an interview with Fanatics View, the former TNT Champion discussed his future aspirations following Sting's retirement match at Revolution 2024.
Darby Allin revealed his ambition to capture the AEW World Championship and become the face of the Jacksonville-based promotion.
“When I come back…if I come back [from Mt. Everest]…The thing is, I want to be the face of this company. And to be the face of this company, you have to have that [AEW] World Championship. So…that's the next goal. World Champion.”
Sting will also main event AEW Revolution on March 3. However, only time will tell if Darby Allin will eventually become AEW World Champion one day.
