Joe Biden's decision to go on Seth Meyers' late-night show was mocked, considering he just turned down the opportunity to do a Super Bowl softball interview.
Now the ratings for Myers' interview are in and they're not great. The program performed particularly poorly among young voters.
Biden could have reached millions of people through the Super Bowl but chose to do so instead. Great instincts, Joe!
Washington Examiner report:
Biden's interview with Seth Meyers is suffering a sharp decline in ratings among younger viewers
President Joe Biden's performance on Late Night With Seth Meyers did not fare as well as he had hoped.
Biden appeared on the talk show, hoping to rally support amid his tight race against potential Republican nominee Donald Trump. However, the attempt has struggled to succeed, especially among the critical 25- to 54-year-old age group, Nielsen Media Research found.
The interview brought in an average of 852,000 viewers and only 181,000 from that demographic. This number is 32% lower than on the same day the previous year.
Myers' ratings declined dramatically during his tenure, in part due to a general shift away from cable television.
These are embarrassing numbers for a sitting president. Law & Order reboot gets better ratings.
It's refreshing to see that younger viewers also find Seth Meyers insufferable.
The show only attracted 852,000 viewers despite being shown on POTUS during an election year.
Context: Gutfeld attracted nearly 2.2 million people that same night, or nearly three times the audience. https://t.co/vmbTGlcRyf

They were bragging about this interview earlier this week. https://t.co/XWG9ipatpS

Probably the only people who followed this interview were journalists, die-hard Seth Meyers fans, and committed Democrats. Otherwise, not many people are interested in hearing what Biden has to say.
