- Scattered light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Madhya, Maharashtra and Marathwada.
Friday (March 1)
- Widespread rain/snowfall with some heavy thunderstorms and thunderstorms is likely over Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
- Scattered rain and snow, with some heavy spells and thunderstorms, are expected in Uttarakhand.

A western disturbance is present as a cyclonic circulation over Iran and surrounding areas in the lower to upper tropospheric levels. From 1 to 2 March, high moisture recharge from the Arabian Sea to northwest India will affect the western Himalayan region from 29 February, and the plains of northwest India from 1 to 3 March, with the heaviest rainfall from 1 to 3. March 2.
Under its influence there is fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the western Himalayan region from the night of 29 February to 3 March. Scattered to fairly widespread Light to moderate with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) may affect Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi Light to moderate rains are expected over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh on 1 -March 2.
Heavy to very heavy rain/snowfall is possible over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on March 1, and heavy to very heavy rain/snowfall is expected on March 2. Isolated heavy rain/snowfall is also very likely over Uttarakhand on March 1-2 and over Punjab on March 2.
Hailstorm activity is very likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab from March 1 to 2; Over Rajasthan on March 1, and over Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh on March 2.
Strong surface winds (30-40 kmph) may affect northwest India on March 1 and 2. Due to trough or convergence of winds at lower tropospheric levels, light to moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are expected over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from February 29 to March 1. Isolated hailstorms are also likely over Marathwada on February 29.
Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation exists over northeastern Bangladesh and surrounding areas in the lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence, scattered light to moderate rain/snowfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during the next seven days. Light to moderate rains are expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from March 3 to 5.
Hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail over Kerala during the next two days and over Rayalaseema during March 1-3.
