Audio of noises discovered during the search for the submarine Titan that raised hope of the crew's survival has been released as part of a new documentary.
The explosions were recorded by sonar buoys in a large-scale rescue operation for the missing submarine and its five passengers.
It was lost on a deep-sea voyage to the wreck of the Titanic in June 2023, and was later found to have exploded, killing all on board.
A US Navy analysis concluded that the noises heard earlier in the week were likely either ocean noise or noise from other research vessels, an official told US partner CBS, the BBC.
The Canadian Air Force team that led the search and rescue mission provided the audio for producers of The Titan Sub Disaster: Minute by Minute, which is scheduled to air on Channel 5 on March 6 and 7.
