Two bodies have been found during the search for a missing Australian TV presenter and his partner, who were said to have been killed by a police officer.

Jesse Baird, 26, and co-host Luke Davies, 29, were allegedly shot dead at Baird's Sydney home last week.

Beau Lamar Condon, a police officer who was in a relationship with Byrd until late last year, was charged Friday with the killing of both men.

Police said Lamar Condon provided them with information that led them to the bodies, which were found in a rural area about 124 miles southwest of Sydney.

The Mardi Gras Board said gay communities across Australia were devastated by the loss of the couple, who had planned to celebrate in the annual parade on Saturday.

The incident prompted organizers of Sydney's gay and lesbian Mardi Gras party to ask police not to march on the weekend, a move the police commissioner urged them to reconsider.

The council said the police presence could “increase distress within our communities”, which have been “already severely affected by recent events”.
