SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – We'll continue to endure warm and breezy conditions from the weekend into the new week. Expect a warm pattern over the next couple of days, with a cold front midweek bringing cooler weather Wednesday into Friday. Spring has taken over, but winter doesn't go by without a fight.
Temperatures today will be mild at sunrise, in the 60s under a mostly cloudy sky. High temperatures will rise to the mid 80s this afternoon with partly cloudy conditions after 10am. Fresh southerly winds of 25 mph will enhance the warm weather. The record in Shreveport and Texarkana is 87 degrees. We will likely fail to achieve this, but strange things have happened.
We will continue the wind and warmth pattern throughout the night and into tomorrow. Lows will be in the 60s overnight, back to the low 80s on Tuesday.
The next cold front will arrive Tuesday night and will bring some clouds but I don't expect more than a few sprinkles as this front passes through the area late Tuesday into Wednesday morning. While the front lacks rain, it will be filled with plenty of cold air. Highs will drop into the 50s and 60s on Wednesday and Thursday. Some rain may fall behind the front on Thursday with an upper level disturbance, but there is no threat of heavy rain or severe weather.
We will warm up over the weekend with great weather on Saturday. If you're looking to enjoy the outdoors, Saturday seems like a safe day to get outside. A warm front will bring a slight chance of showers and storms on Sunday, with a stronger cold front bringing widespread rain and possibly some severe weather next Monday/Tuesday.
