A new trough-shaped western disturbance whose axis lies 5.8 km above mean sea level and extends roughly along Long. 53°E north of Lat. 30 degrees north. It is very likely to cause light rain/scattered snowfall over the Western Himalayan region on February 26 and 27 with enhanced activity over the region and accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal. An active Western Disturbance is also likely to affect the western Himalayan region from February 29 and the adjacent plains from March 1 to 4, with peak intensity on March 2 and 3.
