    Hazardous weather forecast issued for southern Connecticut

    SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT – The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather forecast for Fairfield and New Haven counties, along with northern sections of Middlesex County.

    “A weak cold front will bring isolated snow and/or freezing showers to the area on the move early Monday morning. Air and ground temperatures will likely be at or just below freezing north and west of I-95 at that time, which could “This resulted in some freezing rain and intermittent ice on untreated roads and trails in this area,” the weather service said.

    The Met Office said: “If confidence increases in freezing rain, a special weather statement or winter weather warning will be issued overnight. Travelers are advised to check the latest forecasts and travel conditions before heading out tomorrow morning.”

    Tonight
    There is a 30 percent chance of snow after 4 a.m. – Increasing clouds, with a low of about 25. Southerly winds, speed of about 6 knots.

    Monday
    There is a 30 percent chance of snow before 11 a.m. Cloudy through mid-morning, then gradually calming down, with a high near 52. Wind chill values ​​range between 25 and 35 early. Winds are westerly 6 to 8 knots.

    Monday night
    Partly cloudy, with a temperature around 29. Winds calm.

    Tuesday
    A 20 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 55. Calm south wind becoming 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

    Tuesday night
    Rain is likely, especially after 7 p.m. Cloudy, with a high around 48. Southeast wind 7 to 11 mph. The probability of rain is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.

    Wednesday
    Rain before 1pm, and rain likely after 1pm. High near 60. Breezy. The probability of rain is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.
