Ahead of the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards, a red carpet preview highlighting what the stars are wearing will be broadcast live across multiple platforms.
Tan France and Elaine Welteroth host the red carpet Saturday night before the awards ceremony, where summer blockbusters “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” are tied for the most nominations.
Ahead, WWD is breaking down all the details surrounding the SAG Awards red carpet pre-show.
Who are the hosts?
“Queer Eye” star France will co-host the show alongside “Project Runway” judge Welteroth.
“This year’s pre-show will feature interviews with nominees from France and Welteroth, highlighting the best fashion looks of the night and giving viewers a look at the star-studded red carpet of the SAG Awards,” a press release said.
As part of Netflix's popular show “Fab Five,” France serves as the group's fashion expert. He also co-hosts the fashion design competition series, “Next in Fashion,” with supermodel Gigi Hadid.
Welteroth made history in 2017 when she became the first Black woman to head Teen Vogue, where she was credited with expanding the magazine's scope to cover political and social justice. Since leaving her position at Teen Vogue, Welteroth has joined the judging panel of Bravo's “Project Runway.”
When does the preview start?
The pre-show, which will highlight celebrity style, will begin at 7pm ET on Saturday, right before the SAG Awards. An awards ceremony will follow, starting at 8 p.m. ET.
Where is the pre-show broadcast?
The preview, which will feature red carpet looks, will be streamed across three different platforms: Netflix, YouTube and TikTok. YouTube and TikTok give viewers the opportunity to watch the preview show without a subscription fee. The SAG Awards will stream exclusively on Netflix.
The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be held on February 24 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. For the first time, the concert will be broadcast live on Netflix. Winners are determined by members of SAG-AFTRA, which includes more than 119,000 artists in the film and television industry.
