morning: A warm and calm start to the day. Lowest 33 degrees.
afternoon: Flying dust and high temperatures. High 84 degrees.
Tonight: The wind continues all night. Lowest 44 degrees.
Although the Southern Plains had a quiet start this morning, the forecast for the rest of the day is likely to be more interesting. The speed of westerly winds will increase to 15-25 knots in the afternoon. They are likely to create areas of flying dust and flying debris such as litter and weeds.
Record highs will likely be broken today, rising to the mid-80s by this afternoon. Temperatures are expected to cool back to the 60s on Thursday and Friday before returning to the 70s on Saturday. Then continue to warm into the 80s again for the start of next week.
