    TDOT: SR 690 main line, future I-69 to open Wednesday in Obion County

    Information from Nicole Lawrence, Tennessee Department of Transportation:

    Jackson, Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is ready to open the SR 690 mainline (future I-69) in Obion County in Wednesday 21 February. Crews will be there Wednesday morning to move from the current road to the new road direction.

    The section from west of SR 21 to south of SR 5 in Obion County has undertaken multiple projects over a decade and an investment of more than $220 million.

    The intersection of US 51 with US 45 in Tennessee, extending into Kentucky, was slated for funding in TDOT's 10-year project plan, and is scheduled for construction in fiscal year 2028. Once completed, the future I-69 in Tennessee will connect to the future I-69. 69 in Kentucky.
