As Gateway Pundit reported, far-left Judge Arthur Engoron on Friday issued a vicious ruling barring President Trump from doing business in New York City for three years and ordering him to pay a whopping $350 million. Now, Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, has revealed a provision in the ruling that will make you feel even more angry.
Turley was a guest on Fox News America reports with John Roberts and Sandra Smith To talk to the hosts about the decision and discuss why the ruling should be overturned and its impact on companies potentially fleeing New York. First, he criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul for ridiculously suggesting that other companies had nothing to worry about because they “aren't Donald Trump” before turning his attention to certain details in the case.
The law professor revealed that he had discovered a distinctive poison pill that could force Trump to liquidate all of his assets. He described this as “really cunning”.
And what's really insidious about this is that there's another provision in New York law that requires Trump to pay the full amount or take out a bond for that amount just to appeal this decision.
So it's a kind of perverse incentive for characters like this judge; He has made this so big that he may force Trump to liquidate assets in New York just so he can convince other judges to look into this matter. So, it's a very unfair situation, and I expect a lot of companies will feel uncomfortable after seeing this.

Turley reiterated this argument in an article published today in the New York Post and pointed out the blatantly unconstitutional nature of this provision along with the enormous burden placed on Trump.
Nothing succeeds like over-the-top judges like Engoron. By imposing this astronomical number, he can make it difficult or impossible for the defendant to appeal, without declaring bankruptcy or selling assets at exorbitant prices.
The excessive fine and its basis raise serious legal and constitutional questions. Many of us believe that it should be greatly reduced or eliminated entirely.
But first, Trump must raise nearly half a billion dollars to put before the court. Even with bonds, the high costs of guarantor insurance can come at a premium. It will cost the bondholder a fortune just to bear the risk even if Trump wins on appeal.
This ruling must be repealed as quickly as possible, otherwise America will cease to exist as a functioning republic. In the meantime, ordinary Americans can do their part by boycotting New York City, just as many truck drivers in America are doing now.
