Temperatures are moderate throughout the week, with strong winds hitting Wednesday
On our President's Day, Monday morning, we look to almost all of Albuquerque. This will be a light week. We have a storm coming on Wednesday, one that will bring with it some strong winds. I think the chances of rain and snow seem slim to none. Yes. Here's the next storm system off the California coast. It is a great force now. A large moisture feed with this brings heavy rain to parts of California. Moderate southwesterly flow ahead. This storm system will hit us with winds. I think the rain and snow will likely stay to our west and north, neither of which will arrive today. Rain, snow or wind. I had a very nice Monday. Warmer temperatures combined with sunshine, I don't think we'll have any wind issues overnight. Some clouds will roll in past and should stay above freezing, at least across central and southern New Mexico, around the west and north. There will be some spots that dip into the upper 20s. This is Tuesday, which is warmer than today. Note that we are approaching 80 degrees there in southeastern New Mexico. Tuesday may have a little patchy cloud cover around, but overall the weather still looks decent ahead of the next storm. This has begun bringing rain and mountain snow to northwestern Arizona and southern parts of Utah. Now we'll actually start to see the wind pick up tomorrow. So, our winds may be stronger in the morning than in the afternoon, but the winds are blowing in the 20s and 30s, and calming down a bit as we head into the evening hours. Now, this is Wednesday, a day with lots of clouds and with the storm coming in during Wednesday, we're going to see significant wind gusts, and I'll show you the wind gusts in one second. Uh, notice the areas west and north of Albuquerque. With the possibility of rain and snow at high altitudes. But it won't be much. Only scattered into isolated objects. I don't think we'll have any winter weather advisories or winter storm warnings with the storm system forecast. wind blowing? Yes, up to about 40 or up to the 40 and 50 range in southern New Mexico. It is certainly possible that some wind warnings will be issued. Once again, we call Wednesday Weather Impact Day. These strong winds will make it difficult to do these outdoor activities. Uh, these are highs in the 50s. It's even approaching 60 degrees in some locations in northwestern New Mexico. And the Four Corners area later today. A couple warmer tomorrow. Wednesday. We're now the only corner of the state here in northwest New Mexico where we have that opportunity when we get rain on the mountains and a little snow on the mountains. Then we dry off again on Thursday and see that these temperatures for next weekend will rise to around 60 degrees. Here southwest New Mexico 60s and 70s today. Tomorrow temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than Wednesday. We got absolutely free wind. A little calm on Thursday. Still hitting 58 to get back into the 60s on the weekend, maybe showering again. Opportunity on Sunday. This is southeastern New Mexico and we expect highs in the 70s from Roswell down to Carlsbad, toward Hobbs, 57, in Ruidoso. We reached the 1960s at Alamogordo and Fort Sumner. The weather will be warmer tomorrow and reach around 80 on Wednesday. But the wind takes the fun out of that. Then on Thursday, we reduce the number by ten. But back in time for the weekend, the 70s and 80s are back. Here is northeastern New Mexico. Look at these moderate highs in the upper 50s. Less than 60 seconds. Today, a nice windy day tomorrow. Get a little breeze. Wednesday's winds will be strong. After that, we have a driving break on Thursday and Friday. But high 60 degrees return this weekend. Maybe don't climb the north-central mountains outside the 40s for Magic and the Red River. It's February after all the snow in those locations, but Taos, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe are in the 50s and 60s, in the Espanola Valley. Santa Fe hits 61 tomorrow. Then we have stronger winds. Wednesday. Enjoy a little quiet late in the week, but get back to around 60 on the weekend. Here is the Albuquerque Metro. 54 was our high on Sunday. Today we're 63, so the numbers have gone up by about ten. Well above that average of 55 degrees. 67 is coming our way tomorrow. Then on Wednesday, we have those strong winds hitting us, and it's not going to be a good day for outdoor activities. Ah, Thursday, residual breeze. unique
