    On the outskirts of Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany, between car dealerships and hardware stores, sits a two-story factory filled with solar secrets. Here, the British company Oxford PV produces commercial solar cells using perovskites: cheap and abundant photovoltaic materials that some have hailed as the future of green energy. Surrounded by unkempt grass and an overgrown parking lot, the factory is an unassuming cradle of such potentially transformative technology, but Chris Case, the company's chief technology officer, is clearly smitten with the place. “This is the culmination of my dreams,” he says.
