Farfetch founder José Neves steps down
José Neves, who founded Farfetch in 2008, stepped down as CEO after the company was acquired by South Korean company Coupang in December. This shift also includes the departure of senior executives such as Elisabeth von der Goltz, CEO of Fashion and Marketing at Farfetch and CEO at Browns and Kelly Kowal, President of Farfetch Platform Solutions (FPS). The takeover by Coupang, also known as the “Amazon of Asia”, took Farfetch private after concerns were raised about its future, especially after contracts were terminated by brands such as Kering. However, Neves will remain as an advisor and Coupang management will oversee Farfetch from now on.
