Highlighting education
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – After weeks of intense challenges, the Future Problem Solving Zone Contest has concluded, and the winners have been announced.
From January 17 to February 5, the Brevard County Office of Education hosted the Future Problem Solving Contest.
Future Problem Solving is a popular program that teaches students a six-step problem-solving process to address real-world challenges, enhancing decision-making, and critical and creative thinking skills.
The teams competed in the Global Problem Solving category, focusing on the sustainable use and preservation of Antarctica for the benefit of the world's population.
The teams explored Antarctica, tackling a hypothetical scenario set 20 to 30 years ago using the FPS's problem-solving process. Their efforts produced detailed business plans, presented through captivating ensemble theatrics.
This was a district competition with multiple teams qualifying for the state tournament.
