Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) is pushing legislation that could prevent churches from protecting themselves with armed security. In the House, it was championed by Democrat Hank Johnson, who famously suggested that Guam could flip if there were too many people.
No matter how bad the crime is, Democrats continue to push for Americans to be disarmed.
Just last week, there was a shooting at a Lakewood church in Texas.
Now, at a time when more churches may be considering armed security, Democrats are pushing it. Not real.
Breitbart News reports:
Senate Democrats are pushing a bill that could prevent churches from having armed security
Sen. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) is pushing legislation that could prevent churches across the country from using a “security services unit” consisting of concealed carriers in congregations, parishes, etc.
The bill is the Private Military Actions Prevention Act of 2024, and is co-sponsored by Senator LaFonza Butler (D-CA).
The text of the bill prohibits “acting as part of or on behalf of a private paramilitary organization armed with a firearm, explosive or incendiary device, or any other dangerous weapon.”
In another part of the bill, the text stipulates what conditions constitute prohibited action and includes the use of “large-capacity ammunition feeding devices,” which is left-wing speak for magazines that hold more than ten rounds.

Senate Democrats are proposing a bill that would criminalize armed church security
A recent Lifeway survey of Protestant pastors shows that armed congregants protect more than 50% of Protestant churches. While these security arrangements vary in their level of sophistication on a church-by-church basis, roughly the same number of pastors who reported using armed groups reported having a deliberate plan to prepare for threats posed by an active shooter. Although many state and local laws currently regulate and limit the use of concealed weapons by church security teams in various locations, the proposed federal law would criminalize the preparations made by many armed church security teams throughout the United States.
Sponsored in the U.S. Senate by Senator Edward Markey (D-MA) and co-sponsored by Senator LaFunza Butler (D-CA), the Private Military Activity Prevention Act of 2024 broadly defines a paramilitary group as any group of 3 or Most work under the leadership of the Senate. Command structure as a “Security Services Unit”.
Democrats continue to roll back gun rights. They know they can't repeal the Second Amendment – yet – so they continue to make it more difficult for people to own guns and use them for protection.
