WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Kansas City Chiefs have picked up the option on defensive end Chris Jones' pro contract, essentially giving the team two options to keep the fan favorite in a Chiefs uniform for at least one more season. .
NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport cited anonymous sources in a breaking news story that the Chiefs' move reserves the right to franchise tag Jones and pay him $4.25 million in incentives.

If the Chiefs don't tag Jones, he will become a free agent, and the team will have a big question on their hands this season about whether to extend his contract, Rapoport said.
