Motorized and lighted pergolas, smart doors for keyless homes, and software that can design and price the home before construction begins. These are some of the future technologies honored in the Global Innovation Awards (GIA) programme.
The GIA program honors companies and builders that are leading the way in producing cutting-edge products, services, homes and communities that are impacting the industry on an international scale, including those focused on green building and related products.
The companies that received a GIA Silver Award at the 2023 International Building Show in Las Vegas covered a variety of advanced technologies and were recognized as champions of forward-thinking in the industry:
Pergola Villa from Bon Pergola
Villa Pergola is a freestanding aluminum pergola that is designed to withstand winds of up to 80 mph, but designed for easy assembly and installation. The system includes motorized vents to adapt to sun and weather conditions and LED lighting along the edges for nighttime entertainment. The system can be used by construction companies for installation during construction or by homeowners for use on existing homes.
Samsonite M-PWR Smart Doors
These smart doors feature keyless entry through a code installed on the keypad or through an application installed on smartphones. The doors also incorporate Ring video doorbell technology and LED welcome lighting as enhanced security features. The app can notify homeowners if a door is open or unlocked, ushering in the era of the connected, secure smart door.
utecture
Utecture is a powerful software solution for home builders to use in the pre-construction phase to help homeowners design their dream homes in an interactive 3D environment. To help their business, Utecture allows home builders to accurately price every detail of the project before it begins. The software also engages potential clients in new construction and remodeling projects, making it a great marketing tool for builders and remodelers.
MyGlobalHome
MyGlobalHome is an AI-powered platform that enables a network of homes to provide massive amounts of data about energy use. Details of energy use are fed into the system, which anonymously tracks trends and identifies areas for improvement. This data is used by builders, investors, homeowners and others to design, build and invest in more energy efficient buildings.
