Increasing clouds ahead of our next round of rain are in the forecast for New Orleans
More cloudy but still mild Thursday before rain on Friday
Devin. Travis, Thank you, WDSU First weather warning today, much better weather in terms of high temperatures. There is still plenty of sunshine. We set off yesterday, but temperatures will continue to rise with clouds rolling in before the next round of rain. Satellite images and you can see a few of them in the sky. Clouds beside me. When the first row of these clouds moves out of Mexico. This will be the system that creates this trend. So, this will be the first sign of heavy clouds moving our way. However, a separate system is impacting the western United States. This is built into the front valance with this system. This is our next chance for rain. Let's see what we did today for the low temperatures. This was an interesting thing. We were a bit cold. in some cases. We were in the 30s, even though there were a few clouds high in the sky. We were 37 SLIDEL 36 for Belle Chasse officially 44. This is where we started in New Orleans. So, it's very close to the average low during this time of year. We ended up at 65 years old. So it was a pretty typical day. When you look at the average high and the average low with 60 degrees out there in a lot of sunshine, where we stand a few degrees above 50 to 60 degrees at sunset, 548 here in New Orleans this evening, the temperatures are dropping pretty quickly. . We hit a bit of an easterly wind from 5 to 10, but not much of a strong breeze, as we had two days prior behind that strong cold front that brought strong storms. Then he left this cold air in place after we were so warm in front of him. So there are rising clouds. The southern current of the system moving inland which will connect to the northern system. All this really means is that we increase the clouds we bring rain chances, and it could be a rather wet Friday. What about dinner plans here this evening? Temperatures from around 60 in the next hour will reach the 50s a little high in the sky. The clouds must be great. Roaming around. Clouds will start to increase overnight and temperatures will warm up a bit. So, it is an expected temperature here of 40-40 degrees Celsius to almost 50 degrees Celsius. As we get up and move. And then more clouds. So, it will be mostly cloudy tomorrow but we will stay out of the rain chances even with those thicker clouds showing up around 70 tomorrow. So Thursday should be good. But here the rain will move in on Friday. Overcast skies when we wake up and temperatures won't be too cold. 40s, but then we'll stop raining until we get to about mid-morning. Until about midday, and then we should expect rain during the afternoon. On Friday evening, I think everyone understands it. But that's just rain. We will not find thunderstorms. It's not heavy rain. There is no threat of flooding. There is no big risk. If we need rain and still have a deficit. When you look at what we did last year, this is the kind of thing we really need to not have that given to us. No problems other than the required rain. By Friday evening and heading into Saturday, we will start to stop the rain. How much are we looking at? Well, those who get a little bit of it, a few tenths of an inch. But when you go to the coast, there can be a little bit heavier rain in times of moderate rain that can get us just over an inch. in some cases. Now, when you look at those highs on Friday, you think, well, that's not so bad. Even with some rain. Well, this is the 1960s. Then it will start to rain and then we will get cold as this rain will cool the air. So we'll move on from the 1960s. When the rain actually starts to fall into the 50s, we head into Saturday and the rain starts to taper off. We may have sunshine late in the day, but the north wind is blowing, and the cold starts to set in around 50 degrees, cloudy, and maybe some drizzle and breezes from 15 to 25. It can be a cloudy, drizzly, cold, rainy day. We look to Saturday's forecast just for confirmation. We may see some. The sun is late. But if you want to make plans for a weekend in the sun and are perhaps headed to the North Shore and the paws of Cro Mardi, this is our most confident sunny day this weekend. Temperatures are in the 50s, a bit breezy, but in the sun. I should feel good next week. I just hope we can put these days into the weekend because the temperatures will be warm and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday everything looks great at this time before another system arrives for, you guessed it, next week.
