White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre believes it is unnecessary for President Joe Biden to undergo cognitive testing because it proves his abilities in how he works on a daily basis.
This statement appears to have been made in the hope that the American public would not have access to video evidence 24/7.
During a White House press conference this week, a reporter pressed Jean-Pierre on whether or not considering adding a cognitive test to Biden's annual physical exam seemed like a legitimate idea “especially in the wake of the special counsel's report.”
Special Counsel Robert Hoare's report on Biden's mishandling of classified documents included insight into how his team would not be able to pursue the charges because the president's defense would portray him as a “well-meaning old man with a failing memory.”
It included evidence that Biden “did not remember when he was vice president” or “when his son Beau died,” and showed “diminished abilities” and “significant limitations” during his interview with the special counsel.

Should Biden take a cognitive test? The White House doesn't think so
A reporter asked Jean-Pierre about a possible cognitive test, noting that polls show that “many Americans have concerns about” the president's mental acuity.
But the press secretary refused and suggested that evidence that he was mentally fit for duty was found in his day-to-day jobs.
“I'll just say what — what (White House) Dr. (Kevin) O'Connor said — kind of — what he said to me about a year ago when the report came out last year, obviously, about his body, which is that the president is proving every day how he works, how he thinks — is not it?” She replied.
“By engaging with world leaders, by making really tough decisions on behalf of the American people, whether it's about homeland security or national security,” Jean-Pierre continued. “So, he shows every day how he thinks and how he works.”

Jean-Pierre then launched into a strong defense of President Biden when asked about the cognitive test again.
“I have known this president since 2009,” she said. “I–he's not only my boss, but, you know, he's also some–my mentor. And I would sometimes spend countless hours with him, whether it was in the Oval Office, or on the road.”
“And I think for me — you're asking me for my personal opinion — it's intense,” she added. “He's on top of things.”

He keeps seeing dead people
Suggesting that the American people simply “go to the tape” when trying to determine the mental acuity of “a well-meaning old man with a failing memory” is certainly an interesting approach.
Especially after a week in which President Biden responded to the special counsel's report by claiming that he spoke to two world leaders in 2021 even though they had died many years earlier, referring to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as “the president of Mexico,” and saying he represents red states and ” “Green”.
You don't need to go back very far to see that he's likely to struggle with the test. But if you an act Go back a little and you will see:
- In November of 2023, Biden to speak About a conversation he had with “Deng Xiaoping in the Himalayas” when he was Vice President. Xiaoping died in 1997.
- In June of 2023, Biden cabbage A speech entitled “God Save the Queen, Man.” Queen Elizabeth II died approximately a year before the comment.
- In October of 2022, Biden claimed that he once “spoken” with the inventor of insulin — who died before the president was born.
- In September of 2022, Biden Requested If deceased Rep. Jackie Walorski — who died in a tragic car accident just a month ago — was in the audience: “Jackie, are you here? Where is Jackie?
Some social media users point out that by refusing to take a cognitive test, President Biden is essentially admitting there is a problem, just like someone stopped for a DWI refuses a breathalyzer.
An NBC News poll showed that three-quarters of voters, including half of Democrats, say they have concerns about Biden's mental and physical health.
If President Biden wins reelection, he will be closer to 90 — 86 — at the end of his second term. As bad as things are now? They will be dramatically worse at that point.
Former President Donald Trump has reportedly undergone a Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) which he says he “accelerated at.”
