The billionaire revealed that Sir Richard Branson suffered “severe” injuries after hitting a pothole and falling from his bike in the British Virgin Islands.
The Virgin founder said he had taken a “huge tumble” and posted a photo on Instagram showing him with a bloody elbow next to a fellow cyclist who had also come along.
Sir Richard He posted: “I hit a pothole and hit hard, giving me another hematoma on my thigh and a nasty cut on my elbow, but surprisingly nothing was broken.
“We were cycling with Alex Wilson, who fell behind me, but fortunately he was okay too.
“I consider myself very lucky, and I feel grateful that I keep myself active and healthy.
“In the end, the brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all!”
This is not the first time the 73-year-old has found himself with a cycling-related injury.
In 2018, the mogul believed he had broken his back after falling off his bike during a charity race.
In 2016, he said he feared he would die after hitting his head on the road during a high-speed bike accident.
He was on a training flight with his two adult children British Virgin Islands When he flew off his bike.
On that occasion he revealed: “I was heading down the hill towards Liveric Bay when it suddenly got dark and I managed to bump into a 'sleeping policeman' in the road in front of me.
“The next thing I knew I was thrown to the curb and my life was literally flashing before my eyes.”
After the accident, he was taken to Miami for an X-ray and scan, where it was found that he had a fractured cheek and torn ligaments.
