A Glassbrook Elementary School teacher recently criticized the concept of the Woke Kindergarten program and has now been suspended. The man was identified as Tiger Craven Neely, and was told via email to stop his duties until he was cleared again, according to Fox News.
According to Influence Watch, Woke Kindergarten was created by tactical activist Akiea Gross. The website describes it as a “for-profit consulting firm” that helps its clients with “critical race theory aligned services and materials” to combat racism.
On February 8, 2024, district officials asked Tiger to go on vacation and his keys and laptop were taken.
In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Tiger said he expressed his concerns about the program during a staff meeting. One teacher responded by calling him a “danger to the school or community.”
According to the Daily Caller, news of Tiger's suspension comes after Glassbrook Elementary School invested about $250,000 in the Woke Kindergarten program last week. However, students' grades declined after the implementation of the curriculum, and apart from Tiger, many other teachers were also concerned about the impact of the program.

According to KMPH, a staff meeting related to the program was also attended by Jason Reiman, superintendent of the Hayward Unified School District. Tiger also addressed the other teacher's response, saying that he could see a lot of frustration towards him even though he was explaining himself. he added:
“I was shocked. This is my school. I didn't do anything inappropriate. I was very shaken.”
Once reports of declining grades at Glassbrook Elementary School spread, district officials denied the allegations, adding that children rarely missed classes and there were fewer suspensions.
