We're proud to present the first episode of Eurozine's new weekly talk show, Standard Time. The opening discussion addresses societal pressures, especially on women, in relation to youth and the often unrealistic standards society sets. The episode features three special guests, each bringing a unique perspective to the discussion.

Marleen Wynants joins online from the Netherlands. She is the director of Crosstalks, and guest editor of the Flemish magazine Respectively: verse. She co-coordinated the 99th edition dedicated to aging. Her latest book has received much attention for its thoughtful analysis of aging and its impact on society.

Fiona Ruprecht is a gerontologist from the University of Vienna. Dr. Ruprecht's work focuses on the science behind aging, providing valuable insights into the biological and psychological aspects of this inevitable process.

Zofia Lorand is a historian of ideas and frequent author of Eurozine, which offers a fresh perspective on the societal norms of the era. Her work challenges traditional beliefs and promotes new ways of understanding age in the context of historical and cultural developments. Find her articles evaluating feminist mothers here.

Join us for this thought-provoking episode that promises to shed light on the existential aspects of aging and how it shapes our lives. Listen to Standard Time and participate in a conversation that is redefining the story of aging in today's world.
