Chris Wallace, who left Fox News for a failed stint at CNN, thought he was being clever and reckless when he criticized Tucker Carlson's interview with Putin last week.
Tucker's interview has likely been watched more times in a matter of days than Wallace's show on CNN since its launch, but the point seemed lost on the CNN host.
Wallace always considered himself the smartest man in the room, despite evidence to the contrary.
Media reported:
Chris Wallace Savage's 'Excited Puppy' Interview With Old Colleague Tucker Carlson Putin: More Than Just a 'Useful Idiot'
CNN's Chris Wallace could barely hide his distaste for his former colleague Tucker Carlson's interview with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin this week.
The two media personalities worked together at Fox News and there was no love lost between them, with Carlson once referring to Wallace as a “feisty little guy.”
“Tucker Carlson appeared in Moscow for an interview with Vladimir Putin. “It turned out to be just an interview,” Wallace said Saturday. “Putin spoke for two hours and seven minutes while Tucker sat there like an excited puppy. Occasionally, but rarely, he would get a question.
Here's the video of Wallace making his catchy comments:
Chris Wallace says Tucker Carlson acted like a 'puppy' during his interview with Putin and claims calling him a 'useful idiot' would be 'unfair to the useful idiots'

Now for the really funny part…
Enter Greg Gutfeld, who completely took down Wallace with a simple comment on Twitter/X.
While Tucker was pleading with Putin to release an imprisoned American journalist, Chris Wallace was doing the heroic act of interviewing comedian George Lopez. https://t.co/AvsQShHb1U

This will leave a mark.
Chris Wallace is used to interviewing world leaders. It's funny that none of them run to talk to him anymore, right?
