life
Commercial air travel has taken a hit to confidence similar to what cruise lines felt not long ago due to some troubling safety issues. Recently, the door of an Alaska Airlines plane exploded.
Fortunately, no one lost their lives, but this event caught the attention of the public and Congress. What could be the reason for these recent security lapses?
Could it be due to a lapse in attention to detail, old airframes, or a lack of staff? Unfortunately, none of these issues were the cause, but rather a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in the aviation industry.
Conservative commentator Matt Walsh obtained exclusive insider footage and information shedding light on the DEI virus that has infected our skies.
Certainly uncomfortable
The Daily Wire's Matt Walsh obtained inside footage he received of senior officials in the FAA's Aviation Program Operations Division from a meeting in April of 2022 and posted it on X. The general topic of the meeting focuses on how to diversify the workforce in pilots and flight operations .
The diversity they are looking for is not diversity in thought, training, or background in air flight experience. Diversity is based solely on basic demographics such as skin color and gender.
In the video, Angela McCullough, the FAA's vice president of operations, complains that flight operations are “dominated by white males,” and says they all need to “feel a little uncomfortable” when it comes to changing that dynamic. What Ms. McCullough and others who have made comments say about the “establishment,” which is often “dominated by white males,” who are forced to accept feeling uncomfortable, suggests that this discomfort comes from a racist or misogynistic place.

The discomfort comes from promoting unqualified people over those who are just because they are not white or are not men.
Permit passage
In addition to the inside footage Mr. Walsh received, some sources also reached out to him and provided him with examples of how DEI has and continues to negatively impact air travel. One source, a Delta Air Lines pilot, told Mr. Walsh:
“We recently had a transgender pilot receive repeated negative reviews during his first year probation from the Captain he flew with regarding behavior, CRM, and judgment, yet the Chief Pilot’s Office (CPO) was not prepared to address this issue.”
The pilot goes on to point out the obvious and unfortunate double standards that are completely at odds with the concept of treating everyone equally regardless of who they are:
“Had this not been a transgender pilot, this individual likely would not have successfully completed the probationary period.”

The final comment from the pilot demonstrates the absolute injustice associated with this particular incident:
“Coincidentally, the CPO has a management pilot for recently transferred employees who have the ability to have their say on these matters.”
Completely coincidental. The airline industry, along with others, has said goodbye to the “good ol’ boys club” and hello to the “non-gender-neutral/fluid good ol’ club.”
Time for a road trip
Mr. Walsh's revelations continue as another source reached out to him explaining:
“…I work in a field where my job is to design military systems for warfighters…and I have to deal with new hires who give me ideas about gender-inclusive seat belts.”
Is it any wonder the Department of Defense is struggling to meet hiring goals? In addition, Mr. Walsh obtained documents related to the FAA's eFAST program, which stands for FAA Electronic Accelerated and Streamlined Missions.
The program is dedicated to the following:
- Small business
- Socioeconomically Disadvantaged Enterprises (SEDB)
- Indian tribal owned
- Alaska Native Corporations (ANC)
Under the master order agreement, any contracts with the FAA between $10,000 and $150,000 are “automatically reserved exclusively” for “socially and economically disadvantaged businesses.” Combined with the fact that the dollar amount range is so large that you can fly a 737 across it, this kind of DEI takeover policy is bound to spell disaster if it hasn't already.
Stay on solid ground
Without Mr. Walsh's help, the DEI rot began to creep into the sunlight. Last month, it was discovered that the FAA was recruiting individuals with severe mental disabilities.
According to the FAA website:
“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the federal government has identified, as a matter of policy, for special emphasis in recruiting and hiring.”
The list of targeted disabilities includes:
- Severe mental disability
- Psychological disability
Matt Walsh closes his X series with the following warning:
“It is only a matter of time until this combination of incompetence and discrimination against whites leads to a major air disaster.”
Which is why this former frequent traveler is planning to take a road trip from now on.
It's time to support and share the sources you trust.
