If you watched Joe Biden's national speech, you would probably be horrified. The event was a disaster, as Biden shouted at reporters, forgot things, said that his memory was good, and even confused Mexico and Egypt when talking about Gaza.
You might think that no one can defend his performance, but you would be wrong.
Enter CNN. And in some of their reporting, they stooped to Biden's defense, because of course they did. What else can they do?
In this clip below, contributor Kate Bedingfield, who worked in the Biden administration, says:
“Can I say, on this point about Mexico, he misstated the name of the country and the context of the larger answer about what he's doing to try to get humanitarian aid to Gaza, is that a perfect answer? Is it cool to misspeak? No, it's not.” It's never a good thing to get it wrong. I promise you that everyone on this committee right now has got it wrong and said the wrong name or the wrong, you know, the wrong date in the conversation.

CNN is now defending Biden for his belief that Mexico borders Gaza

Not real. CNN's Kate Bedingfield, a former Biden spokeswoman, says Biden “showed a little swagger” by “a little bit of a fight with reporters.”

They were actually defending him before the speech even started. He watches:
Ahead of Biden's speech, CNN's Erin Burnett defended his “verbal deadlock” and how he “veers off into another story” as merely his “trademark for the last 50 years.”
“How is he supposed to get over 'how people see him now' when that's who he is?” she whines. pic.twitter.com/DJkkOuxNnl– Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) February 9, 2024
There is absolutely nothing CNN won't do in order to protect Biden, no matter how foolish they are to do so.
