    On February 7, 2024, BTS member V also known as Kim Taehyung finished the second half of his training at the Army Administrative School. The idol began his three-week intensive training for the Special Task Force (SDT) deployment, on January 18. He trained at the Counter-Terrorism Training Center where he underwent live fire training on automatic targets, abseiling, military police service, and lockdown. -Battle quarters, and more.

    After going through the program, which is known for extending training hours into the night, V is ready to begin his duties in his final position at the SDT camp starting on February 8.

    Previously, he had completed his basic military training at the Nonsan Training Center on January 16 with BTS leader RM. The duo were honored as two of the elite six soldiers of the graduating class, having performed commendably.

    As of January 31, news of V's assignment from BTS to the Special Task Force often referred to as SDT of the ROK II Corps (also known as II Army Corps) has arrived. The unit itself is located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.

    The “Ssangyong Unit” of the II Corps – nicknamed the “Double Dragon” (쌍용) – oversees the border area of ​​the most famous military demarcation line in the entire army. Not only is it famous for its difficult terrain, but it is also famous for having many soldiers who bear the brunt of the rigorous training regime. Furthermore, II Corps inculcated the Assault Force + Ground Operations Command (GOC) into its repertoire.

    The Ground Operations Command aims to protect the military demarcation line while fending off a full range of threats. At the same time, offensive force relates to an aggressive military operation targeting the enemy.

    Their mission is to engage the enemy in battle or get them to withdraw from/avoid battle. The corps also guards the Middle East Front, which serves as one of the roads leading to Seoul.

    BTS' V's is located in a valley between the Twin Peaks also known as the Twin Dragons, and access to the unit itself is exhausting, due to the difficult mountainous terrain. Therefore, the unit is also of small size.
