    “Onding” is a noun that means “heavy fall of rain or snow.” The term comes from that cherished home of many weather words related to rain and snow, Scotland. According to Merriam-Webster, it's a good word to use to describe heavy snowfall that doesn't meet the definition of a blizzard.
