Commenting on reports of a possible meeting, Bill Kristol, chief of staff to the former US Vice President during the Reagan administration, suggested a temporary ban on Carlson's return to the United States.
“We may need a complete and complete shutdown of Tucker Carlson entering the United States again so that our country's representatives can figure out what is going on,” Kristol said.
Kristol also compared Carlson's visit to Moscow to Jane Fonda's trip to North Vietnam during the Vietnam War, when the American actress was photographed wearing a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun while American forces were fighting communist forces in the country.

In January, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former US President Donald Trump, said that Carlson was a “contender” to be his father's running mate in the 2024 US presidential election.
“I mean, they're very friendly, and I think they're in agreement on almost all of these things. And they're certainly in agreement on stopping the endless wars. And so, I'd like to see that happen. That would certainly be a contender,” Trump Jr. said in an interview with Newsmax.
According to Russian Telegram channel Mash, Carlson was photographed at the Bolshoi Theater after spending three days in Moscow.
