Last week, crazy left-wing activists dumped soup on the Mona Lisa in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
This has become a popular tactic with climate changers because it gets them attention they can't live without. It does nothing to advance their cause, but that's not their goal. Even many liberals think this is stupid and wrong.
Except for the people at the Los Angeles Times. The Los Angeles Times just went through a massive round of layoffs. If they keep spreading such garbage, they will surely get more layoffs in the near future.
So proud to be doing this during my second week of maternity leave…my first byline in the Los Angeles Times!

This is a fact reported by the newspaper:
How throwing soup at the Mona Lisa could help fight climate change
By combining extreme forms of civil disobedience with more mainstream actions, such as lobbying and state-sanctioned demonstrations, activists not only capture public attention, but also make less aggressive tactics more acceptable and perhaps more successful.
I study the role of disruptive politics and social movements in global climate policy, and have chronicled the ebbs and flows of climate activism. With today's political institutions largely focused on short-term desires for the long-term health of the planet, and global climate negotiations moving too slowly to meet this challenge, climate activists have been radically reconsidering their tactics.
…Criticism of extremist activity often misses a crucial point: public backlash is not necessarily the ultimate goal of activists. Often, their goal is to influence decision-makers in government and business.
Objections to climate activism, such as the recent food fight at the Louvre, are understandable, but they may miss the point. The perceived insanity of the protesters is actually a tactic.

It's really amazing to look at. The Los Angeles Times goes beyond parody.
